Gary Klein attempted to file Trademark status on his new Top Gun Bicycle 1989 and got stopped by Paramount Pictures for infringing on their new movie “Top Gun” starring Tom Cruise.
as they were pressed for time, and money to fight Paramount and Gary didn’t have another name in mind to call this model, his general manager came up with the name “Rascal.”
the Rascal model was born and became a huge success. very few Top Guns were ever made or sold, making the Top Gun at the top of the list for most serious Klein Collectors today.
